‘Paris is always a good idea’
Like all cities, it’s not perfect (my weekend happened to fall when the ‘Black macs’ set the Champs Elysees on fire and looted the shops) but there is something magical about the rooftops, bistros and boutiques that get me every time.
But what really get me are the pharmacies- they are like a treasure chest of goodies. Although shops in the UK like Boots and online outlets like feelunique.com are now stocking brands like La Roche Posay and Bioderma, there’s no doubt that the number of products and the price make it much more advantageous to leave some extra room in your luggage!
I’m going to rewind to just before I touched down in the City of Lights and share what I picked up in London Heathrow Duty Free.
- Alpha H Liquid Gold– I have used this before but it’s been a while so I picked up 100ml travel version. It’s achieved cult status due to its ability to improve skin texture with a combination of (naturally derived) glycolic acid and liquorice root extract. It claims it’s good for acne scarring, pigmentation, and dullness so looking to incorporate this occasionally into my routine pre-Spring.
- Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist– this is just a lovely pick-me-up spritz and I like to keep a mist in my bag, gym bag, on my desk at work…I’m devastated that the Omorovicza spa is booked out over Easter weekend when I’m in Budapest, so I guess I’ll just console myself with misting my face the whole time.
Now on to what I bought in the pharmacy. I seriously had limited space in my luggage so I only picked up 2 things:
- La Roche-Posay Toleriane moisturiser- my Bioderma light was nearly out and I’ve used this one before. It’s simple, no frills, no fragrance and is a great one for no irritation.
- Bioderma Sensibio cream cleanser– I had never seen this before and have been using the La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser religiously. Most of the beauty world hails the Bioderma micellar water as a cult product, so I wanted to see if the cream cleanser was just as good.
If you saw on my Insta-stories, the woman working at the pharmacy was EXTREMELY generous with the samples, so I received an abundance of La Roche-Posay BB cream, Vichy and Biotherm moisturiser, Embryolisse moisturising mask, and a Eucerin peel & hyaluronic acid.
However I won’t make the mistake to pack them all for a trip and send my skin into overdrive as I did in December!
